ROG announces new gaming accessories at CES 2020

Updated: Mar 10, 2020

ROG, or Republic of Gamers, is one of the worlds leading manufacturers of gaming equipment, gear, and accessories. They offer quite the lineup of premium monitors, mice, keyboards, and many more.

So, it comes to no surprise, that they have a stand in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) of 2020, where they have shown a variety of new products that will soon launch into the market.

What have they announced? Let´s break it down:

New Monitors:

ROG SWIFT PG32UQX 4k Monitor:

The PG32UQX is ROG´s newest 32" 4K monitor that comes with a 16:9 display. With Beautiful color contrast thanks to it´s High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology, and a refresh rate of 144 Hz (click here if you want to know more about what that means) this is sure to be a monitor that will wow even the most skeptical gamers with its graphics.

ROG SWIFT PG43UQ 4K Monitor:

Similar to the last monitor, ROG also showed the 34" PG43UQ monitor. It is also a 4K screen with integrated HDR technology. Like the previous example, it comes with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and the capacity to display unimaginable crips images.

Both these monitors come with certified NVIDIA G-SYNC support, meaning that they shouldn't get any screen tearing as the technology smoothes the visual display and synchronizes the output of your graphic card and the refresh rate of your monitor.

ROG STRIX XG17AHP PORTABLE MONITOR:

On the other side of the size spectrum, ROG unveiled its newest 17.3" portable monitor. This small screen (with IPS display) is made so that you can play games in full HD wherever you go. All you need is to connect it to your laptop or even a gaming console.

Don´t let it´s size full you, this little monitor has an impressive refresh rate of 240 Hz (even more than the aforementioned desktop version). It comes with a built-in stand and tripod, so you can prop it up anywhere and at your preferred angle.

You need a USB-C cable to connect it to your computer and recharge it´s batteries, although it has enough battery to play for three hours uninterrupted. If your computer or console doesn't have a USB-C port, it also comes with a micro HDMI port so that you can still play, it even has a pair of speakers to let you listen to the game without a headset.

New Mice:

ROG Chakram:

This is a new gaming mouse like no other. it´s main innovation being the joystick that it proudly sports at its side. Yup, not a button, but a little thumbstick like the ones that gamepads have.

If it is comfortable to use, it can be a game-changer to the typical mouse and keyboard combo. As we discussed previously, one of the main drawbacks of the pair is the lack of precision that the WASD keys give at precise steering, either for driving vehicles or other similar activities.

That disadvantage would be gone with the joystick, giving the M&K combo superiority in many genres over the old gamepads. Not only that, but the Joystick can also be programmed as a directional button of sorts, letting you assign an action to each cardinal direction that you push.

As is the norm with high-end gaming gear, customization is the name of the game for the Chakram. It comes with 5 programmable buttons that you can map however you want. Some are even magnetic, allowing you to them off the mouse itself with ease, if you so wish.

The Chakram is both wireless and wired, you can play it however you find more comfortable. If you have trouble deciding between the two modes, we wrote a guide to help you decide the past. In any case, it has a long battery life for its wireless mode, lasting up to 48 hours.

Finally, it has a feature that can´t be found missing on any modern gaming mouse. No, not the RGB lighting (although it also has that), but an internal memory that allows it to remember all your tweaks and custom preferences.

The Chakram is already out! Check it on Amazon:

STRIX IMPACT II:

The Strix Impact II is the next wireless iteration of ROG´s Impact mouse. 2.5x times more sensible than it´s predecessor (as measured in Dots per Inch, DPI), this mouse is meant to be as precise and fast as possible when it comes to registering your movements across the screen.

It also comes with many overall improvements; like a larger body, plastic grips, and more customizable lighting zones. Finally, It has two buttons on the sides for you to map additional shortcuts.

ROG PUGIO II:

The Pugio II is Rog´s latest ambidextrous general-purpose gaming mouse. It is not widely specialized, but it has a 16.000 DPI sensor (same as the Impact II) that allows it to detect even the slightest of your movements, and precisely translate them on your screen.

Like the previous mouse, it comes with two customizable buttons at the side and can be used both wirelessly and wired, by connecting it to your computer with a USB cable.

Other Accessories

STRIX GO 2.4 Wireless Headsets:

ROG will also launch a new headphone, the GO 2.4. This wireless headset has a USB-C dongle that allows you to not only connect it to your PC, but the Nintendo Switch, and smartphones as well. The dongle ensures that there is no noticeable latency between your game and the headset.

Thanks to encasing ear chambers and Noise Cancelling technology, this headphone ensures that you can hear the game without any distractions. It also ensures that your teammates can hear you loud and clear, without any background noise.

A big advantage that these headphones bring is their battery life. It can last up to 25 hours and requires only 15 minutes to charge

ROG STRIX SCOPE TKL DELUXE KEYBOARD

Strig Scope is ROG´s latest gaming keyboard. It opts to eliminate the number pad to keep your mouse hand close to your keyboard, making FPS games more comfortable to play. And that´s the specialty of this keyboard, First Person Shooters.

To make long hours of gaming more comfortable, this keyboard includes a padded wrist rest along its the bottom. The customizable cherry keys that it has, give you a chance to change the tactile feedback of pressing each button.

But, the most noteworthy feature of the Scope is its size. Without the number pad and the media row of keys, this keyboard is quite compact. Perfect for people with small hands.

And of course, you can´t be a gaming keyboard on this day and age without colorful, and customizable, RGB backlighting.

This keyboard is already out! Check it out on Amazon:

And that's a wrap.
